Outotec PSI® 300

Outotec PSI® 300 Particle Size Analyzer is an on-line sizing system for mineral slurries. It is used to monitor and control grinding, classification and thickening in mineral processing plants. PSI® 300 automatically takes samples from one to three process streams and measures slurry particle size in the range of 25-600 µm (28 – 500 mesh). It is particularly optimized for measurements above P40 size.

The analyzer system reports the analysis results to the plant automation system for real-time process monitoring and control. A variety of particle size distribution characteristics can be selected as outputs. The analyzer is a compact stand-alone device with options according to the specific requirements of each application. Primary sampling from the process stream is normally engineered as part of the analyzer delivery project using the range of proven Outotec primary samplers, to ensure the representativeness of the sample as well as the trouble-free operation and transportation of the sample to the analyzer.

The system operates on a continuous basis, 24 hours a day, with minimal maintenance. Weekly maintenance routines include checking the sampling system and cleaning any trash buildup in the secondary sampler. Outotec Customer Service ideally performs preventive maintenance through scheduled maintenance calls.
