Outotec's Model PSA pressure pipe samplers are generally installed immediately above a process pump where the flow is turbulent. The slurry from the process pump discharge is mixed by the sudden expansion of the line size. The process stream pressure forces part of the stream through the sample nozzle situated at the upper end of the sampler body. The nozzle size is selected to have a similar average flow velocity inside the nozzle as outside the sampler body. The nozzle diameter is usually larger than the transport tube. Sampler pipe diameters are available in sizes from 114 to 508mm (4.5 to 20in) OD.
