Carpco® Sample Splitters are classified as precision "rifflers" because of their ability to accurately divide granular materials for sampling purposes.
Top ranked by material testing organizations, Carpco® sample splitters meet section 5 of ASTM Specifications C702, "Standard Methods for Reducing Field Samples of Aggregate to Testing Size," and other sampling specifications. Precision splitting or riffling is accomplished simply by loading the hopper with material to be divided, leveling the sample, and lifting the palm-operated gate release. Alternating fixed-width chutes deliver half the sample to each pan. The hopper gate mechanism assures even sample distribution and eliminates particle segregation.

Our sample splitters are constructed completely of stainless steel to best serve fertilizer, powder metals, nuclear and other specialty industries. The heavy gauge material withstands the sometimes rough laboratory environment.
