The Carpco® Model MIH (13) 111-5 is a laboratory/pilot-plant dry high-intensity magnetic separator designed to separate moderately or weakly paramagnetic materials.
This bench-top unit is ideal for research and mineral analyses. Separation results obtained are directly scalable to Outotec’s high capacity industrial Meter Magnet separators. This model treats particles ranging from 1 mm (18 mesh) down to 74 µm (200 mesh) in size and boasts a capacity of up to 100 kg/h (200 lbs/h) based on material having a bulk density of 1,600 kg/m3 (100 lbs/ft3).
The Meter Magnet separator places all particles in contact with the highest magnetic field at the zones of steepest magnetic gradient and utilizes magnetic force and gravity to capture weakly magnetic particles. A turning, induced magnetic roll is used to transport material through the active area providing an opposing centrifugal force for separation of magnetic and nonmagnetic materials.
This technique is capable of efficiently removing weakly magnetic material occurring as contaminants in nonmagnetic products. This unit can withstand high material feed temperatures of up to 150oC.
