MagForce Rare-Earth Drum Separator

The drum separator is sensitive to small differences in magnetic susceptibility, allowing efficient separation. As a result, the drum separator becomes extremely useful in separating weak paramagnetic materials. The high intensity rare-earth drum provides a deep field around the surface of the drum. This feature makes the MagForce Drum Separator capable of handling relatively large particles at high feed rates.

The separator is designed with a particle treatment range of 74µm (200 mesh) up to 12.5 mm (½") in size of granular free-flowing materials. The laboratory unit’s capacity is up to 1,100 kg/h (2,400lbs/h) based on material having a bulk density of 100lbs/ft³.

Outotec has designed the unit with interchangeable drum configurations for two ranges of field intensity. These different magnetic drums to suit specific separation needs are available as an option. We also offer 0.5 and 1.0 meter long pilot-scale and industrial–scale units for those requiring greater treatment capacities.
