Laboratory Plate-Type Separators

The Carpco® Model EPS (10) 111-15 Plate Electrostatic Separator is designed for laboratory separation of fine conductors from coarse nonconductors.

Material is fed by a velocity-type feeder onto plate and slides under a static electrode. During this stage, conductive particles are lifted away from the nonconductors by means of the high voltage on the static electrode. Two splitters create nonconductor, middling and conductor products. Variables for separation include feed rate, electrode angle/placement, electrode voltage, and splitter position.

The unit has a particle treatment range of 1mm (16 mesh) to 74mm (200 mesh) with a capacity of up to 65kg/h (165lb/h) based on material having a bulk density of 1600 kg/m3 (100 lb/ft3). This totally self-enclosed bench-top model is supplied with a 50 kV DC power supply (Model CR50R2).

Applications

  • Recovery of fine conductors from coarse nonconductors
  • Recovery of titanium minerals from high-tension middling circuits
  • Final cleaning of zircon
  • Final cleaning of rutile
  • Cleaning of other conductive minerals

Options

  • 50kV DC power supply
