The Minerals Processing division provides processes and process equipment based on proprietary technology in the areas of grinding, flotation, physical separation and thickening as well as analyzer and automation technologies. The division also offers total concentrator solutions that integrate various equipment and processes and are based on decades of research and development at Outokumpu’s former concentrator plants and Outotec's research center in Pori.
In addition to process technology, the offering of the Minerals Processing division covers application and process knowledge and metallurgical know-how for larger projects, and services, including spare parts, site maintenance and inspection services as well as expert services.
The expertise of the Minerals Processing division can also be applied in other areas outside the mining and metals industries. The division has for example supplied drinking water plants to Sri Lanka.
The sizes of typical projects, equipment deliveries and service packages range from EUR 1-30 million.
The division's sales accounted for 29% of Outotec's total sales in 2007.
