Acquisitions and divestments

Outotec, formerly known as Outokumpu Technology, has consolidated its position as the leading technology partner in the mining and metallurgical industry by several major acquisitions, such as Lurgi Metallurgie and KHD Aluminium Technology in Germany, Lurgi Australia, Nordberg Mills in Norway and Boliden Contech in Sweden.

In 2007 Outotec acquired the Chena® (Chemistry Navigator) trademark from a Finnish company Liqum with two related patent families on electrochemical measuring and process monitoring as well as exclusive rights of this technology in mining, minerals and metals industry applications.

All these companies and their offerings have been united under a single brand, namely Outotec.
